Born in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania on August 30, 1928, George was the son of Sam and Gonda Viti, Italian immigrants who proudly came to this country to create a new foundation for their family. George served honorably in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Air Force Band. He received a degree in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University and was a successful corporate executive before starting his retail shoe business, George’s Shoes, in Allentown, PA in 1968. For thirty years, George’s Shoes, located a half block from Hess’ department store, was a preeminent boutique destination for families in the Lehigh Valley. George was awarded the Downtown Allentown Spirit Award “in recognition of the true entrepreneur and his commitment to the economic growth and vitality of the central business district” of the City of Allentown.
George was married to his beloved wife, Theresa, for almost 64 years and they had two children, Kim Viti Fiorentino, Esquire and Craig Viti, MD – who were his pride and joy.
He was dashing and charismatic and traveled the world with his wife and always enjoyed meeting new people, learning about new cultures and making new friends. George was a connoisseur of world affairs and a master of sudokus.
George enjoyed his wife’s magnificent cooking, wine time, the company of friends and treasured his beloved family.
